Alice Sutton Stein

Alice Sutton Stein, 80, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors 
Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. John Bridwell, minister 
emeritus of First Christian Church, officiating. Entombment will be in 
Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Stein was born in Prague, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 
1946. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City, where she 
was the debate champion in 1934. She attended Mills College in Oakland, 
Calif., and the University of Oklahoma.

She was a homemaker, a Girl Scout leader and a volunteer for the PTA. She 
was a member of Lawyers' Wives Club, Amarillo Antique Club and First 
Christian Church.

Mrs. Stein married C.A. "Pete'' Stein in 1937.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mary Anne Stein of 
Albuquerque, N.M., and Nancy Besly of Lubbock; her sister, Stella Lucille 
Rickner of Norman, Okla.; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
