Stewart, JoAnn JoAnn, lifetime resident of OKC, died Thurs., April 8, 2004 in a local hospital after a long illness. She was 70. Born Sept. 14, 1933, JoAnn attended Central High School and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Language. She was fluent in French and also spoke German, Italian, and some Spanish. She went on to marry and raise a family in Del City. She helped establish her husband's law practice and managed his business affairs throughout her lifetime. She and her husband Boyd would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Oct. of 2004. JoAnn was an active member of the Council Grove Chapter of the National Society for the Daughters of the American Revolution and spent much time collecting and researching her family genealogy. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed performing secretarial/ treasurer duties for her leagues. JoAnn enjoyed traveling and the arts, and spent hours with sewing and crochet projects. She was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for her cats throughout her lifetime. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents Roy Elmer and Ruth 'Jane' Summers of OKC. She is survived by her husband, Boyd Stewart of Del City and 4 children: Elizabeth A. Van Dyck, Edward Stewart, Jr., Karen Vahlberg, and John Stewart. Surviving grandchildren include Matthew Van Dyck, Amy Van Dyck, Jenny Van Dyck, Kelsey Rogers, Mackenzie Rogers, Allison Stewart and Will Stewart.
