Graveside service: Friday morning in Fox Cemetery on the farm of her husband's family in Kaufman. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at University Christian Church, 2720 S. University Drive, Fort Worth. Visitation: Thursday evening at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman. Cindy Shiels was born in Dallas on May 18, 1958, to Ervin and Barbara Cruce. She moved to Fort Worth in September 1966. Cindy attended Trinity Valley School and graduated in 1976. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a business degree in 1980. After college, she worked for commercial real estate brokers in Oklahoma City, Okla. In 1982, Cindy moved to Dallas, where she worked for the 2M Co., a commercial real estate firm. While in Dallas, she reconnected with a high school friend, Frank Shiels, and they married. In 1987, Cindy and Frank moved to Fort Worth and eventually settled in Aledo with their two children, Kate and Cameron. Cindy was an energetic participant in life and in many organizations; however, her family, her friends and her church were the most important loves of her life. She was a member of the Family Covenant Class at University Christian Church and was a member of the board of deacons. A lover of all things outside, Cindy's favorite place was in her yard. Her mother, Barbara Cruce, preceded Cindy in death. Survivors: Her husband, Frank Shiels and children, Kate and Cameron of Aledo; parents, Ervin and Connie Cruce of Fort Worth; brother, David Cruce and wife, Sue, of Little Elm; brother, Kenneth Cruce and wife, Courtney, of Kerrville; sister, Kimberly Blevins and husband, Brad, of Nashville, Tenn.; and nephews, Andrew and James Cruce of Kerrville and Will Baker and Briggs Blevins of Nashville, Tenn.
