Snow, 77, of Norman, Oklahoma, died in Norman on September 15, 2002 ending a courageous battle with several illnesses. Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 between 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. at the Havenbrook Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, September 19, 2002 at the Prague City Cemetery in Prague, Oklahoma with Reverend David Poteet officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma. A native Oklahoman, she was born November 2, 1924 in Prague to Dillie May and Jess Warren Morris. She graduated from Prague High School in 1942 and from the University of Oklahoma School of Nursing in 1945. Following graduation she worked as the supervising nurse in the Newborn Nursery at University Hospital in Oklahoma City, later moving to the Orthopedic Clinic at Children's Hospital.In 1947 she married H. Leon Snow in Prague. They resided in Michigan and California during his career as executive director of several state dental associations before returning to Oklahoma City in 1972 and moving to Norman in 1978. After many years away from nursing, Virginia's love of caring for children led her to accept a position as a nursing supervisor at the J.D. McCarty Center for Handicapped Children until her retirement in 1986. She was an active and founding member of Bridgeview United Methodist Church where she served on several committees. After 49 years of marriage, Leon passed away in 1996. Virginia was also preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Brian of Norman, nieces, nephews and many friends. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Norman, 623 N. Porter, Suite 500, Norman, OK 73071 and the American Cancer Society, 2420 Springer Dr. Suite 215, Norman, Oklahoma 73069.
