Simpson, a devoted Christian woman, passed peacefully from this life on Dec. 29, 2002 at age 76. She was born August 5, 1926 in Lone Wolf, OK to William P. and Ida (Riley) Coffia who moved to a town near what was once the village of Lugert, OK, where she attended grade school. Following high school at Lone Wolf, OK she committed herself to the W.W.II labor force taking employment with Douglas Aircraft Company on Tinker Field near Oklahoma City. In 1947 she married J.D. Simpson of Arcadia, OK a veteran of many battles in Europe while serving in the US Army 45th infantry division in W.W.II. Following their marriage and a few short years of civilian life, J.D. joined the US Air Force and Margaret followed in pursuit of a career in Civil Service. Except for two Saudi Arabian tours to which J.D. had been assigned where western women were not welcome, the two of them served their country together at many Air Force Bases, both foreign and domestic, until taking retirement in the 1970"s. Settling into retirement they lived out their lives in the Midwest City area. Their loving devoted union closed when J.D. passed away in 1996. Margaret is survived by sisters: Theda of Yukon, and Lucille of Hobart, OK; brothers: Bob of Edmond and Pat of OKC; in addition to a host of nephews nieces and their children which includes her husband's family who took care of her and handled her everyday needs.
