All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Smith, Sara Jane SARA JANE SMITH died Tuesday, September 17, 2002 of cardiac arrest at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. She is survived by her husband, Gary Smith of OKC; son and daughter-in law, Christopher and Cindy Cahill; granddaughter, Nikki Cahill, all of Mt. Juliet, TN and son and daughter- in-law, Derek and Krista Cahill of OKC; brother, Wayne Edwards of North Plains, OR; sisters, Shirley Brunton of Old Hickory, TN; Diana Perrin of OKC and Donna Koonce of Harrah, OK and 13 nieces and nephews; father, Ralph Edwards of California. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Brashear and her granddaughter, Alex Cahill. Sara was born May 16, 1947 in Beaumont, TX. She grew up and lived her life in OKC. She attended college at Central State in Edmond, OK and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She also received an Associate's Degree in Computer Science at South OKC Jr. College. Sara was a legal assistant for the law firm of McCaffrey and Tawwater for 15 years. She developed congestive heart failure and received a heart transplant at Integris Baptist Hospital on Jan. 13, 1998. Her hobbies were hot air ballooning, teddy bear collecting, crafting, reading and traveling. She had been many places in the world. She has gone to heaven to be with her 5 year old granddaughter, whose funeral was just two days before she died. Sara is loved by her family and many friends and will be dearly missed. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City.
