She was born November 24,1923 in Gentry, Missouri to Bessie (Canaday) and Samuel Maxwell. In 1946, Frances married the love of her life, Kenneth Eugene Smith. From this union, three children were born, Keith, Mark, and Sandra. Frances was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and dedicated her life to caring for her family and keeping their home. She was a longtime member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed socializing with other church members. She is survived by her husband Dr. Kenneth E. Smith, O.D. of the home; son Keith Smith of Norman, OK; son Mark Smith & wife Kathy of Woodward, OK; daughter Sandra Smith Wylie & husband John of Norman, OK; brother George Maxwell and wife Velma of Kansas City, MO; sister Helen Smith & husband Gerald of St. Louis, MO; 7 grandchildren: Tana Schuermann & husband Matt, Tara Ratliff, Austin Wylie, Kendal Wylie, Megan Smith, Marshall Smith, and Kendell Smith; as well as many other friends and loving relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Mrs. Smith's name to the Baptist Children's Home, 16301 S. Western, Oklahoma City, OK 73170. Services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, February 4, 2003, at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S. Pennsylvania.
