All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fitzhenry FH--Indio CA Smith, Anthony Wayne Anthony "Tony" Wayne Smith was born February 12, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK to Curtis Elmer Smith and Iona Jane Camp. He was a veteran of the Navy and Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Tony retired from the Indio Police Department in 1977 as a sergeant, previous to that he served as an undercover officer in Laguna Beach, California. He was a founding member of the FOP of Indio as well as an instrumental figure in establishing many of the anti-drug and the gang programs in the east valley. Tony was the owner/operator of A & J Investigative Services from 1979 to present. Tony was also a member of the Indio Elks Lodge for many years, and served on the Indio Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife Alicia Smith of Indio; his sons, Michael Donnely of Camarillo, Brian Donnely of Carpenteria, Jeff Donnely of Cincinnati, Charles Juarez of Desert Hot Springs, Martin Juarez of 29 Palms, Benito Juarez of Indio; as well as 11 grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 5, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzhenry Funeral Home in Indio. Funeral Services will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in the chapel at Fitzhenry Funeral Home in Indio. Graveside services will immediately follow.
