Joe L., passed away Saturday, February 1, 2003. He was born September 8, 1925 in Tishomingo, OK. He was united in marriage February 4, 1948 to Virginia Justice. Joe graduated from Madill High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the Enterprise Carrier (CV6). He was honorably discharged on May 22, 1946. He owned and operated Smith-Weir Electric and served on various city boards to make his industry safer. After flunking retirement, he started a new career selling new houses for a builder, Jack Dallas Homes, where he worked until he entered the hospital. He was a member of the Methodist church. Joe is survived by his wife, Virginia of the home; two daughters, Teresa Isbell and husband Rick of OKC and Sharon Pagel and husband Jimmy of Tuttle; one son, Dwain Smith and wife Lee Ann of Castle Rock, CO; two granddaughters, Ryan Smith and Whitney Isbell; five grandsons, Landon Smith, Zachary, Eli, and Sam Pagel, and Garrett Isbell; one brother, Myrl Smith of Durant, OK; many nieces and nephews; and many members of the Justice family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Annis and Albert Smith; three sisters; and four brothers. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those he touched throughout his life. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 4, 2003 in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
