Snell Funeral service for Clark Davenport Snell will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2003, at the Crossroads to Life Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Carter, pastor, will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Binyon Funeral Home, Blanchard. Clark was born the son of Jessie Lee Martindale Snell and Harold Franklin Snell on December 26, 1943, at Oklahoma City. He died Tuesday, January 28, 2002, at his home in Blanchard. He married Sharon Ruth Lewallen on November 26, 1980, at Gainesville, Texas. He was reared in Oklahoma City. Clark attended Oklahoma University and University of Central Oklahoma where he received his bachelors degree in 1973. He completed his masters at Colorado College in 1976. Began mission work at the Jesus House of Oklahoma City in 1977. Later he moved to Bartlesville and opened the Bridge Bucy Street Mission for several years. He was best known for the children he cared for, housed, and raised. In all there was over 200 children in his care. A total of eight children were adopted by Clark and his wife Sharon. Clark was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Susan Wiewel and Jane Brown. Survivors include his wife Sharon of the home; children Steven Snell of St. Louis, Missouri, Jim Snell of Dallas, James Snell of Tulsa, Daniel Snell of Tahlequah, Jason, Beth, Brittany, and Amy Snell all of the home; mother Jessie Daugherty of Oklahoma City; sisters Mary Ruth Claunch of Oklahoma City and Lynn Noland of Oklahoma City; and nine grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony Hospital Sister's Fund, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
