All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::?--Amarillo TX Russell Lee Scott EDMOND, Okla. - Russell Lee Scott, 90, died Friday, July 4, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Memorial Road Church of Christ. Burial will be in Amarillo, Texas, by Matthews Funeral Home. Mr. Scott was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Chilton County, Ala. He was the fifth child and learned the ethics of hard work and family. He spent his life working, picking cotton from age 5 to 20. He took some time off to fight for our country during World War II. After the war, he moved to Amarillo and worked as a produce salesman, furniture store owner and maintenance man. He and his wife, Lavern, moved to Edmond in 1998. He was a longtime employee of Homeland grocery where he was loved and will be missed greatly. He was a faithful Christian and a wonderful man. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mickey Banister and wife, Jane, of Edmond; two granddaughters, Ali Compton and husband, Ben, of Skiatook and Carrie Schaefer and husband, Greg, of Edmond; a great- granddaughter, Isabel of Edmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
