Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with John Early, Christian Science Reader from Amarillo, and Dale Hoggatt, pastor of First Christian Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mr. Tucker was born in Oklahoma City and lived in Dumas prior to moving to Clarendon 34 years ago. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps then served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. In 1985, Mr. Tucker retired after 34 years of teaching, including 21 years at Clarendon College. He was a member of Clarendon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7782, Donley County Senior Citizens Association, president of the Lost Cord Club of Amarillo and past president of the Donley County Genealogy Society. He was a member of the Mother Church of Christ Scientist in Boston. He married Frieda Zybach in 1950 at Canadian. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Leanne Tucker Howell of Clarendon; two sons, Brian James Tucker of Amarillo and John Carl Tucker of Abernathy; and two grandsons.
