Burial was May 28 at Green Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Tate was born April 18, 1918, in Davis to Douglas and Ollie (Broom) Brashears. She was one of 11 children. She attended school at Oak Ridge, located east of Davis, through the eighth grade. After her mother died, her father moved the family to Butler. She and her first husband, Doyal Harrison, returned to Davis and then moved to Bethany, where they made their home. Harrison died in 1962. She married Charles Tate in 1975, and they lived at Eufaula until his death. She then moved to Oklahoma City to be close to her son. After injuring her leg, she moved to Grace Living Center in Bethany, where she remained until her death. She is survived by a son, Douglas Harrison of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Bill Brashears of Lawton, Kenneth Brashears of Orange, Texas, and Bunk Brashears of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Aaron and Jewell Aaron, both of Davis, three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma and Ella Mae; and three brothers, D.V., Galen and Calvin Brashears.
