Faye was born on September 4, 1907 in Durant, Oklahoma to Grace and Erie Leonard. Faye was a recognized artist and had a real talent for social gatherings. She traveled the world and spread the gospel. She was an incredible Christian with an amazing love and faith in God. Faye was named Woman of the Year by the Senator of Oklahoma in the late 1980's for her volunteer work. In 1999 Governor of Texas George W. Bush recognized Faye's accomplishment and contributions in her life. The one and only love of her life Harry Tholen preceded her in death in 1977. Faye was preceded in death by her brothers Benny and Denvil Leonard and her daughter Maxine Daniel Murdoch. She is survived by her brother Paul Leonard whom she greatly loved and admired. Five grandchildren, Karen Moreno, Jamie Segran, Mary Beth Daniel, Gretchen Hawkins, and David Daniel. Fourteen great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren. She was extremely close to great granddaughters and their families, Judy Johnson and Hunter Etcheverry who took care of Faye "Nannie" the last 8 years of her life. She was loved by all the knew her and she will be greatly missed by a lot of friends and loved ones. Graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on Friday November 29, 2002 at 2:00.
