He was employed by Mud Check Inc. as a drilling mud consultant. Ray was considered to be "the mud man's mud man". He gave seminars and spoke at many Oil & Gas shows worldwide as well as consulted on some of the deepest wells drilled in the US. Ray was raised in Oklahoma and received his B.S. in Education from Northeastern Oklahoma State University. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Connie Esch Taylor, his mother Wanda Grubbs, Stillwater, OK: his half brother Jim Grubbs and wife Pat and sons: and half sister Kathy Hopper and husband Von and their children. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 PM at the IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa, OK, Arrangements by: Singleton & Sons, Hempstead, TX (979) 826-2425.
