"Tommy" was born October 2, 1926 in Mangum, OK to Jesse & Effie Thompson. He went to join the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2003. Tommy served in the US Navy as a Seabee during WWII. He retired from Sears & Roebuck in 1985 after 31 years of service. He was a long time member of Baptist Temple Church, where he was a Deacon & a member of the Koinonia Sunday School class. He spent many years teaching Sunday School at the Baptist Retirement Center. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and a brother, Lavelle. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce; daughter, Lynn Parker of FL; sons Tommy of AR; Robert of OKC; Don and wife Carol of OKC; twelve grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Two brothers also survive him, C.M. Thompson of Del City and Al Thompson of Chanute, KS. Dad/Grandad will be forever loved and sorely missed. Memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 2212 N.W. 50th, Suite 246-C, OKC, OK 73112. Services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 Baptist Temple with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
