Gene Traynor, 74 year-old Enid resident will be Friday, September 13, 2002 at 11:00AM in Calvary Cemetery. Father Larry Kowalski will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Gene was born on December 17, 1928 in Enid to Edward J. and Mary Appel Traynor and died Tuesday, September 10, 2002 in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He attended Waukomis schools and was a graduate of Waukomis High School in 1946. After graduation he worked as a lineman for O.G.&E and farmed. He joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After service he was an Air Traffic Controller in Memphis, Tennessee and Oklahoma City until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed flying and was a commercial pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings and was a certified instrument flight instructor. He is survived by his loving companion, Sydney Rainey, of the home, three daughters: Anne Marsh and her husband Richard, of Norman, OK, Ashley Fish and her husband Craig of Great Bend, KS and Andrea Wilson and her husband Steve, of Oklahoma City, OK; one son, Alan Traynor and his wife Denise, of Midwest City, OK. Also surviving, nine grandchildren, two brothers: R.A. 'Skeeter' Traynor and his wife Evelyn of Enid and George L. Traynor and his wife Jody of Enid. One sister, Maredda Nelson and her husband, Tom of Clemmons, North Carolina. Numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant son and his wife. Memorials may be made to the Enid SPCA with Henninger- Allen acting as custodians of the fund. The casket will be open until 9:00AM on Friday.
