Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday at the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Rendon. Memorials: American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718. Edwin "Ed" Taylor was born March 11, 1923, in Harrah, Okla. He lost his father at age 13 and worked at helping his mom with two younger sisters. At age 19 he joined the Navy and then the Army. On Oct. 23, 1944, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Berniece Cooper. They had three daughters, Benita, Linda and Deniece. He was a hard-working man who would do whatever it took to take care of his family. After retiring from being a carpenter in Sunnyvale, Calif., he built a home for himself and Berniece in Pioneer, Calif. Choosing to leave the beauty of the Sierra Mountains and to be closer to his family, in February 1999, they moved along with their beloved beagle, Candy, to Fort Worth. He and Berniece were members of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Rendon. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna Ruth Canipe, Dec. 27, 1997; and youngest sister, Dorothy Simmons. We love and will miss you Dad. Survivors: Loving wife, Berniece; children, Benita Sievers and Kenneth Mays of Fort Worth, Linda and Charlie Bullard of Burleson and Deniece Macy of Aptos, Calif.; grandchildren, Justin Sievers and Neva Tracy of Felton, Calif., Nicole Sievers of Seattle, Wash., Carolina and Todd Walsh of Watsonville, Calif.; one very special great- granddaughter, Annalee Walsh; sister, Betty Webb; many nieces and nephews and friends in Oklahoma, Texas and California; and two beagles.
