Thomas Sr., Simon K.

Simon K., Sr., 79, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in Oklahoma 
City, Oklahoma. He was born May 7, 1923, in Centrahoma, Oklahoma, to 
Elbert Eugene and Golda (Thornton) Thomas. Simon enlisted in the 
Merchant Marines during WWII and was honorably discharged from the 
U.S. Coast Guard in May of 1945. His career began in welding, 
constructing buildings and bridges in the Oklahoma City area. Simon 
retired as a foreman for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 
344. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 12 of 
Bethany/ Warr Acres. Simon is survived by one son, Simon Thomas, Jr. 
of OKC; one daughter, Linda Lane and husband, George of OKC; two 
brothers, Gene Thomas and wife, JoAnn and Tommy Thomas, both of 
Houston, TX; one sister, Rose Lee Wadsworth of Houston; two 
grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a special friend, Lorena 
Wallace. He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Albert Thomas, 
and his parents. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, 
April 12, 2003, Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment 
following in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of
