All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Yukon Cemetery--Yukon OK Lawton Constitution 6 Sep 2003 Wayne LaVon Towe OKLAHOMA CITY — Graveside service for Wayne LaVon Towe, 79, Oklahoma City, will be at 3 p.m. today at Yukon Cemetery. Mr. Towe died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003. Arrangements are by Smith and Turner Funeral Home, Yukon. He was born April 7, 1924, in Piedmont to Banner and Marie Towe. He grew up in Piedmont and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He married Justine Ray of Trousdale in 1947. After the war, he worked for the first drywall company in Oklahoma City. He later owned and operated Towe Drywall Company. He acquired Homco Construction Company in 1964 and retired in 1982. He then co-owned and operated Edmond Coin and Jewelry with his son, Scott. He was a member of the Northwest Optimist Club and the Oklahoma City Coin Club, and a life member of the Oklahoma Numismatic Association. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Marjean, Oklahoma City; and David and Brenda, Lawton; four grandchildren: Bryan Towe, Boston; Natalie Towe, Oklahoma City; and Michael and Jeffrey Towe, both of Lawton; a special niece and nephew, Katherine A. Ray and her family, Oklahoma City; and Joseph A. Ray and his family, Jenks; a brother, Robert J. Towe and his wife, Virginia, Oklahoma City; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Alma Nance, Plano, Texas; Wilma Alexapolous, Kansas City, Mo.; and JoAn and Dean Whisler, Midwest City; many other nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Nelda Denning. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Scott; and a sister, Ruth Catton.
