All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Grace Lawn Cemetery--Edmond OK Underwood, Nellie Neff Nellie Neff Underwood was born August 23, 1905 in what was then Indian Territory and died on March 7, 2003 in Oklahoma City. She was the second of five children born to Frank and Iva Neff. Her childhood was spent on the farm North of Arcadia but she lived her entire adult life in Edmond. She married Jack Underwood of Edmond and they had a happy 51 years together before his death in 1976. Nellie graduated from the old Central State Teachers College in Edmond. She taught in the elementary grades at Carney, Arcadia, and Deer Creek. 24 of her 39 years of teaching were in Guthrie Central School. She delighted in the children, keeping in contact with many of them through the years. Her family was small in number and was doubly treasured because of that. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Glyn Parsons, grandsons Dwayne Parsons and wife Kelly of Guthrie; Steve Parsons and wife Pattie of Oklahoma City, great grandsons Shane of Guthrie, Joseph and Thomas and great, great granddaughter Somer of Oklahoma City. She has two surviving sisters, Irma Goss of Edmond, Oklahoma and Jessie Yoder of Deerbrook, Wisconsin. She has numerous nieces and nephews in virginia, Alabama, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, and Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Graveside services will be held March 10 at 2:00 pm at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK.
