Bowen Frances A. Bowen Voegelein was born June 4, 1913, in Temple, Oklahoma to Luther E. and May L. Bowen, and went to heaven on January 17, 2003. She grew up in Temple and attended Temple schools and Oklahoma College for Women. On April 7, 1939, she married Glenn E. Voegelein. They had one daughter, Linda, and one granddaughter, Amanda. By the 1950's they were permanent residents of Oklahoma City. Her church home was May Avenue Methodist Church. Frances was always active in her daughter's schools, Cleveland, Taft and Northwest Classen, serving in many capacities during the years. She belonged to the Engineer's Wives Auxilary, Shakespeare Club, and Revidere Book Club. She always showed kindness and friendliness to everyone. During her last year she was in very poor health, but never lost her gracious demeanor. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Burke, son-in-law, Jim Burke, and granddaughter Amanda of Edmond. Her sister Opa Wendell of Oklahoma City and brother Joe Bowen of San Antonio also survived her, as well as, her nephew, John Davidson and niece, Nancy Jensen of Texas. The family would like to thank all of the nurses, caregivers, and personnel at Bryant Nursing Center and Hospice Center. We will never forget you. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at Memorial Chapel, 13313 N. Kelley. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
