GEORGIA VAN VLIET

1915-2005

GROVE, Okla. - Georgia W. Van Vliet died Wednesday September 14, 2005 at 
the Honey Creek Retirement Village at the age of 90.

Georgia was born February 22, 1915 to Rholia and Laura Shafer at Spencer, 
Ok.  She was a homemaker.  She moved to Grove in 1987 moving from Hart, 
Mo.  She was a former member of the Burlington Christian Church in 
Burlington, Ok.  where she played the piano.  Georgia enjoyed being with 
children, being outdoors enjoying birds and nature.  She married Dee Van 
Vliet October 10, 1933 at Norman, Ok.  He preceded her in death July 14, 
1993.  One son, four sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons:  Bill Van Vliet  and wife Sue of Eugene, Or., 
and Don Van Vliet  and wife Jackie of Grove.  Two daughters:  Delora Van 
Vliet of Grove, and Laura Houk and husband Ron of Joplin, Mo.  One sister:  
Erma Miller of Bremerton, Wa., and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 17, 2005 at the 
Seneca Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Cope officiating.  Services are under 
the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.  Memorial 
contributions may be made to the Gideon's International in care of the 
funeral home.
