All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Verbryke, Maudie Marie 1918 - 2005 Maudie Marie Verbryke lost her battle with lung cancer and passed away Monday, May 2, 2005, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at North Fort Worth Baptist Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at Hefner Mansion Retirement Center, 7700 W. Hefner Road, Oklahoma City, Okla. Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or North Fort Worth Baptist Church. Maudie was born March 28, 1918, to William E. Wright and Terriece Riddle Wright in Fort Worth. Maudie married Phil Jared and had two children, John Paul and Joanna. At the end of World War II, Maudie married George W. Dearing and had two daughters, Drinda and Joy Denise. George Dearing passed away in September 1980. Maudie later met and married Joseph Verbryke and was widowed in February 2000. Maudie was also preceded in death by her parents; younger brother, Paul; and one grandson, Chris Sanders. She spent the majority of her life in Fort Worth. Maudie and Joe were longtime members of North Fort Worth Baptist Church and sold life insurance for Shannon Insurance Co. She and Joe moved from the River Oaks area to Meadow Lakes Retirement Center in Fort Worth. In 2002, she moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. At her death, Maudie was a resident at Hefner Mansion Retirement Center and was a member of Crossings Community Church. Survivors: Brothers, Jack Wright and wife, Lillian, and Bill Wright and Ronald Wright and wife, Peggy, all of California; children, John Paul Jared of Poquoson, Va., Joanna Wills-Bernard and husband, Don Bernard, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Drinda Fisk and husband, Mike, of Fort Worth and Joy Denise Sanders Thavolsutti and husband, Gamon, of Lake Whitney; stepdaughter, Sharon Verbryke Richards and husband, Jim, of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
