Roy Julian Jr. 'R.J.', died on August 10, 2002, after an eight-month struggle with brain cancer. He was born on August 7, 1944, in Memphis, TN, to Roy Julian and Christine Houk Wagner, who survive him. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Wagner Nelson of Denver, CO; his loving wife, Beth Ross Wagner; sons, Kristofer Ross Wagner MD and wife, Meg of Temple, TX, Ian Ross Wagner of Dallas, TX; sweet baby granddaughter, Julia Grace Wagner; many loving relatives, and his dear New England family. R.J. graduated from Putnam City High School and OSU. He served four years in the U.S. Navy as Yeoman 2nd Class in the Vietnamese Theatre with the Combat Camera Group. He and Beth returned to Oklahoma City in 1970, and he joined his father and uncle in business at Wagner Studio. To so many school principals and staff, R.J. was simply 'the' school photographer. His dear employees, partners, Ken Wagner and Matt Kutch, and friends everywhere, will miss him. He was a member and past Deacon & Trustee of Mayflower Congregational Church, Professional Photographers of Oklahoma, and has volunteered for many community charities. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Keefer and his loving staff for their exceptional love and care, as well, as so many loving friends at Mercy Health Center. A memorial service, to celebrate R.J.'s life, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Mayflower Congregational Church, 3901 N.W. 63rd, Robin Meyers officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Free to Live, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, or Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, ABC2, 1711 N. Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20036. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
