All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Union Cemetery--Bakersfield CA Hazel Turner Watts Dec. 17, 1939 May 7, 2005 A funeral service celebrating the life of Hazel Turner Watts, 65, of San Pablo, California, will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005, 11:00 a.m., Union Baptist Church, 1218 E. Belle Terrace. Pastor John Turner, officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Union Cemetery. Hazel Turner was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on December 17, 1939, to the proud parents of Frank and Lena Watts. Hazel was the second child of twelve children. At an early age Hazel moved to Bakersfield and attended the local schools in Bakersfield and graduated from Bakersfield High in the year 1957. She later married John Wesley Turner and to this union three children were born, Sandra, Cherlyn, Roselyn. Hazel united with Union Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Brown where she became a very faithful and active member until she relocated to the Bay Area in 1965. She continued her Christianity at Allen Temple Church under the leadership of Dr. J. Alfred Smith, where she received numerous certificates and worked voluntarily under church programs until her health failed her. Upon relocating Hazel obtained employment with Berkeley University and the Oakland Army Base moving on to work 27 years at Navistar Distribution Center receiving many achievements and promotions. During her employment she decided to continue her education obtaining her degree in Business Administration. She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Watts and brother, Willard Watts. Hazel leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her homegoing, Sandra and husband, Tony Allen of Portland OR; Cherlyn and husband, Willie Young of Bakersfield, CA; Roselyn Turner of Bakersfield, CA; eight grandchildren and four grandchildren; seven sisters, Maxine Eddington, Barbara Decree, Joyce Jackson, Jackie Greenwood, Arlene Johnson, all of Bakersfield, Gwendolyn Williams and Betty Jenkins of Las Vegas; three brothers, Leon Watts of Bakersfield, Frank Watts Jr. of Oakland, CA, Carl Watts of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Lena Watts of Las Vegas, NV; a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives, friends, co-workers and church family.
