All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Floy Virginia Williams EDMOND, Okla. - Floy Virginia Williams, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m Friday in First Christian Church in Edmond. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Durham by Baggerly Funeral Home of Edmond. Mrs. Williams was born in Durham. She attended Randolph Junior College, Oklahoma A&M and West Texas State University, receiving her bachelor's degree and teaching certificate. She earned her master's degree from West Texas State University. She taught school in one-room country schools in Oklahoma and in elementary schools in Canadian and Perryton, Texas, for a total of 33 years. She was a member of First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, played handbells, participated in CWF, and served as an elder. She achieved Worthy Matron status in the Eastern Star. She was active in B&PW and was named their Woman of the Year in 1974. She was a volunteer for Red Cross and the hospital auxiliary Pink Ladies. She married Furman Williams in 1933. He preceded her in death.
