Scott A. Wilmeth
   
Graveside  services  will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with
the Rev. Chester Beavers officiating. Military honors will be conveyed
by  the  Navy. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E.
Interstate 40.
   
Mr.  Wilmeth  was  born  Nov.  4, 1957, in Tulsa, Okla., to Leo J. and
Marilynn  Small  Wilmeth Jr. He resided with his family in Tulsa for a
number of years as well as Houston and Sioux City, Iowa, before moving
to Amarillo in 1973.

   
He  attended  and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1975. He was a
member  of  the Tascosa Rodeo Club and the Tri-State High School Rodeo
Association.  He  enlisted in the Navy in September 1975 and served on
the  USS  Duluth  and  the  USS  Chicago,  obtaining the rank of petty
officer first class.
   
He  received  numerous  citations and decorations for service while in
the  Navy.  He  served a total of 12 years in the military. In 1994 he
moved to Oklahoma City and worked with his brother.
   
He  contributed  greatly  in  the recovery effort during the April 19,
1995,  bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City. He received a
certificate  of  appreciation  from  the Chief Medical Examiner of the
State of Oklahoma for all of his help.
   
He  became  a  professional  truck  driver in the fall of 1995 and was
driving  a  truck  at  the  time  of  his  death. He was raised in the
Episcopal  Church.  He also helped at the homeless mission in Oklahoma
City serving meals and assisting in other areas.
   
He  was  preceded  in  death  by his father, Leo, in 1981; his mother,
Marilynn, in 1999; and a sister, Lisa Diane Wilmeth, in 1969.
   
Survivors  include  three  brothers,  Larry  Wilmeth of Amarillo, Mike
Wilmeth  and  wife, Maria, of Oklahoma City and John Wilmeth and wife,
Tricia,  of  Pryor,  Okla.; his grandfather, Dr. Ray Small of El Paso;
six  nephews,  Jimi Wilmeth of Amarillo, Tanner Wilmeth of Stillwater,
Okla.,  Matthew Machinski and Andrew Machinski, both of Oklahoma City,
and  Cody  Asher  and  Bryson Wilmeth, both of Pryor; a niece, Brianne
Wilmeth Schaffler of Amarillo; and numerous aunts and uncles.
   
The  family  will  receive  friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
