Job opportunities took him to Phoenix in 1996 where he passed away September 12, 2002 in his Phoenix home after a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Blanche Clay, paternal grandparents, Oceail and Lola Wheeler. He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann (Richardson) Wheeler, Phoenix, children, Timothy, Jr and wife Leah, Rockwall, TX, Rebecca and husband Matthew DeShong, Edmond, OK, granddaughters, Alenya Wheeler, Edmond, Lindsey Wheeler, Rockwall, TX, parents, Ronald and Patricia Wheeler, OKC, brothers Randy, Piedmont, OK and Philip, OKC and sister, Nancy Pinkerton, Edmond, OK, 11 nieces and nephews, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew, his loving extended family of Pittsburg, KS, in-laws, Robert and Shirley Richardson, Donald and Judy Byrd, sister-in-law, Jennifer, brothers-in-law, Bobby and Jimmy, along with all of their children. Tim began his career at the early age of 12 years old, working for his grandparents in the family grocery store, Honest Market, at 3rd and S. Broadway, Downtown OKC. He worked for the Safeway and Homeland chains in Oklahoma. He was employed by Safeway Grocery chain at the time of his death. Tim was outgoing and always went out of his way to help others in either their personal or professional life. His greatest pleasures in life were his family, friends and travel, especially with his best friend and wife, Lee Ann. He loved a rowdy card game at family gatherings, Diamondback baseball, horse races and golf (mostly for the time with friends and family). Tim leaves all of us with an incredible void, but will be in our hearts always. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Trinity Nazarene Building Fund, 7301 S. Walker, Oklahoma City, OK 73139. A memorial will be held at Trinity Nazarene Church, 7301 S. Walker, OKC, OK, Saturday, September 21, 2002, at 2:00 pm.
