She married her childhood sweetheart, Bennie Lloyd Winkleman on April 4, 1942 in Chandler, OK. After living in California & Oklahoma City, she settled in Midwest City in 1954. There, she was active in her women's club, The Soldier Creek Group in all kinds of charitable work. She loved cooking, sewing, crafts and poetry; but most of all, she loved singing. For many years, she sang in a trio at nursing homes in the metro. She was a long-time volunteer in RSVP and was acknowledged for the many hours she gave to the senior citizens. She believed in the importance of freedom to vote and worked at the polls for many years. She loved visiting her brother, Hubert, who would play guitar and sing with her. She enjoyed learning and singing new hymns. Ruby was a kind, loving and giving person who was always in service to others. We miss her greatly. She died one year after a massive stroke which left her paralyzed in constant pain and sometimes unable to talk. We are thankful her suffering is over and she is in God's home.
