All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Winters, Gene 1929 - 2005 Gene Winters, 76, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, in Azle. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, First Baptist Church of Kennedale. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Gene was born April 21, 1929, in Wellington to the late Bill and Bessie Keesee Winters. He retired from Brown & Root Construction as a surveyor after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Luther, Okla., but attended First Baptist Church of Kennedale for more than the past decade. Gene had a beautiful sense of humor. He enjoyed playing checkers and dominoes. Gene was a hunter and a fisherman. He also raised beagles. Gene will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Survivors: Wife, Clara Winters; children, Leatha Thomas and husband, Mike, Stephen Winters, James Winters; stepdaughter, Sandra Colwell and husband, Jerry; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul Winters, Ollie Winters, Edith Trammel, John Winters; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
