Born in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of Ruby Sheppard and Cecil Stanley. Growing up in St. Louis, Betty's taste, class, and beauty led her to modeling while being swept into an exciting life with her love of 47 years, Bob Ward, deceased February 8, 1994. Having spent her first 40 years in St. Louis, Betty moved with Bob and her daughters to Oklahoma City in 1966. Betty was best known in the Oklahoma City community as an award-winning artist and painter in spite of the challenges she faced as a victim of ALS. A miraculous ALS survivor for over 30 years, Betty served as an inspiration of strength to her husband and daughters - - a true testament to fortitude, drive, and love of life. Betty Ward is survived by 2 daughters, Robyn Ann and Sharon Lynn and 5 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Resurection Cemetery, Saturday, August 26, 1995, 10:00 a.m. Donations to Mercy Hospice are welcome. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Oklahoma County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/oklahoma/oklahoma.html
