He was born on September 8, 1915 to Victor Calvin and Katie (Wright) Walker in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. After marrying his childhood sweetheart, they established their home in Jones where they raised their 5 children. They had 64 years together, serving each other and ministering to others in the church of Assemblies of God, before Ilo went to be with the Lord in 2002. Calvin was well known in the Jones community for his determination to fulfill any job he began. He was a devoted husband, good provider for his family, car salesman, farmer, dairyman, dealer of all trades, and a hard worker and expected as much from his family. His love for the Lord and desire and to preach the word at any given opportunity was always evident in his life. He loved poetry and could still quote lengthy poems to all he came in contact with. His love for the outdoors allowed him to enjoy hunting, mowing his lawn, watching his cattle graze and sharing produce from his garden with family and friends. During his early years, he operated a large dairy and farm. He is survived by 4 children: J.C. Walker (Glenda) Walker of JOnes; Sandra (Jack) Orr of Holland, Ohio; Warren (Pat) Walker of Valdese, NC; Vick (LaQuita) Walketr of Jones; 11 grandchildren; also 14 great grandchildren. There are numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and relatives of which he was very fond. He always enjoyed them stopping by for a visit, as well as friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vic and Katie Walker; wife, Ilo; as daughter, Sheryl Walker Colvin; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He will be missed and remembered for his Godly standards and he passes the torch on to his family to live a Christ Like life. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the Harrah Nursing Home, nurses who patiently cared fore him on 5th floor at6 Midwest City Hospital, his family doctor and friends, Dr. Richard Doner and the many friends and neighbors whom he appreciated so much.
