GERTRUDE M. WEST
Services for Mrs Gertrude Mitchell West will be at 2 pm Wednesday
in Guardian Midtown Funeral Home with burial in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Mrs West died Sunday in the Yukon Convalescent Home following a
brief illness.
She came to Oklahoma in 1893 during the land run and was a retired
school teacher from the Oklahoma City School System in 1953. She
later became the prinicpal of the Children's Convalescent Center,
Bethany.  Mrs West was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church,
Sorosis Club, Amercian Association of University Women, Kappa Kappa
Iota sorority.  She was graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State
University in 1918 and also Oklahoma City University in 1925.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Brown, Birmingham, Ala.;
two step-sons, Raymond West, Edmond, and Robert West, Tulsa; seven
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
