Wayne was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 4, 1929, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the age of 77. He was a real trooper up until the end fighting his cancer and complications from diabetes. His spirit will live on in all our hearts. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. while in the service, he met the love of his life Barbara in Fall River, Massachusetts. They married and moved to Fresno, California in 1950. Shortly after that he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and after 35 years of service he retired. Not long after that he got bored and went to work for the Fig Garden Post Office where he served as manager for about six years. Wayne will be greatly missed by his family as a loving father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He always had a positive outlook and was able to put a smile on everyone's face. He will truly be missed by all. Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Ann Wilson; and his sister, Billie Mills. Wayne leaves behind his daughter, Deborah Stokes and her husband Richard; his son, Wayne Wilson, Jr. and his wife Deanna; grandchildren, Wendy Slawinski, Heather Stokes, Travis Wilson, and Sean Wilson; great- grandchildren, Mackenzie, Spencer and Mason. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Wilson of Yuma, Arizona; sisters, Wynetta Chick, of Oklahoma City, Fern Blankenship, of Oklahoma City, Edith Nelms, of Douglasville, Georgia, and Joy Cheuvront, of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Northwest Church, 5415 N.
