All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Berlin Cemetery--Berlin OK Surnames: Winburn, Harrison, Hughes, Orgain, Smith Classification: obituary Originally Posted at: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.oklahoma.counties.rogermills/9241/mb.ashx George Winburn, Jr. was born May 30, 1942 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Billie and George Winburn, Sr. He passed away April 30, 2010 at his home near Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years and 11 months. George graduated from Berlin High School in 1961. He continued his education at Sayre Junior College before enlisting in the U.S. Army. George served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. After his discharge in 1965 he returned to Oklahoma and he married Judy Harrison in Oklahoma City where they made their home. George was employed with Western Electric, which later became AT&T and then Lucent Technology, retiring after 38 years of service. Judy passed away in November of 1990 and he remarried in Oklahoma City where he was married to Audra Hughes on June 5, 2000. They lived in Oklahoma City until moving back to the family home place south of Cheyenne, Oklahoma in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Judy, and a brother, Pat Winburn. He is survived by his wife, Audra, of the home; his brothers and sisters, Bill Winburn and wife, Barbara, of Moore, Oklahoma, Mike Winburn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sherri Orgain and husband, Jim, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Tammy Smith and husband, Ralph, of Elk City, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to Faith Hospice, Cheyenne United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society. Services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Greg Keith. Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made on line at www.whineryfs.com.
