He was born in Oilton, Oklahoma to J.G. and Gladys Young November 19, 1931. He lost his very courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Arnold graduated from Cleveland High School in 1949. He then graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1953. His first job after graduating from OSU was working at the Tulsa State Fair. In 1963 he started working for the state in Oklahoma Industrial Development and Parks department and retired in 1989. He was the director of communication when he retired. He won the Clement 2 trout award while working at Sunray News in Tulsa. Arnold was a sports announcer for Cleveland High School for many years. He was also a sports announcer while attending Oklahoma State University. Arnold is survived by his wife Bonnye Nell of Oklahoma City, OK. His one son Philip Glenn Young of Oklahoma City, OK. His one brother Robert L. Young and his wife Nancy of Westminster, California. Arnold is preceded in death by his parents J.G. and Gladys young, 1 brother J.G. Young JR., and a very special nephew by marriage Michael Eugene Glenn and his wife Karen of Cleveland, OK. There will be a private family service at John M. Ireland Funeral & Chapel June 5, 2003 at 6:30 P.M. Services will be held Saturday June 7, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, OK. With Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
