All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.html ========================================================================== ::Cremation Society--OKC OK Zielny, Roberta Marie Brown Roberta Marie Brown, age 44, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. She was born in Oklahoma City on Jan. 10, 1961 to the late Robert Myron Brown and Susan Ameringer Brown. Preceding her in death is her grandmother, Mrs. Oscar 'Freda' Ameringer. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1979, and was selected as the representative for Oklahoma Girls State, where she received one of six girls highest award for the most outstanding from a group of women participating statewide. She attended Harvard University for a six-week debate seminar in 1978. She attended Tulsa University as a pre-law student, and the University of Oklahoma. She worked several summers at the Boutique Dress Shop. She had a great talent in craft, retailing and decorating. She was in charge of her high school reunion in 1989. For the next 15 years she did extensive catering services for non-profit agencies, professional business, and free-lance for wedding receptions. As Board member of Central Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from 1989 through 1992, she assisted her mother in various fund raising activities. She has been a real survivor after her auto accident in December 1995. She was active in OKC Head Injury support group and volunteered in OU group hospitals in gift shops and as a nurse's aide. She is survived by her brother, Michael James Brown. A memorial service were held at the Memorial Garden of First Unitarian Church Monday, Aug. 22, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. Friends and distant relatives of Roberta are invited to attend the reception after the ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to First Unitarian church, 600 N.W. 13 St., OKC, OK 73103.
