All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== (01/04/1905) Miss Bessie Kessel and Miss Clara Brotherton, assisted by Mrs. Kesel, of 100 East Third street, entertained Monday eveining in honor of Mr. Charles Kessel, whose twenty-first birthday anniversary it was. The evening was spent playing games, and Miss Edna Anthony favored the guests with several selections of music. Late in the evening a sumptious supper was served. About twenty of Mr. Kessel's friends enjoyed the hospitality of the hostesses, and all departed wishing him many returns of the happy day. (01/10/1905) Dr. and Mrs. U.L. Russell are receiving congratulations of friends because of the arrival of a little son at their home Sunday. (01/12/1905) Some Humane Interest. Lester Gandy is a ten-year old page in the employ of the present house. He is the adopted son of Representative Jim Gandy of Woodward-Beaver counties. Ten years ago Gandy was serving in the Oklahoma legislature in the senate. His wife was here with him. She learned a woman, in dire circumstances financially, was on her death-bed in West Guthrie. She visited the home and administered to the family's wants. Among the household treasures was a baby boy, only a few months old. Mrs. Gandy was much impressed with the baby and finally adopted the child, this procedure greatly pleasing the dying mother who desired a good, permanent home for her child. The boy was Luther Martin; today he is Lester Gandy, the page, and there is not a brighter lad in the territory. (01/19/1905) A Deputy County Clerk. A young republican arrived Monday at the home of County Clerk Blackburn. Mother and child are reported as doing well. (01/24/1905) The Junior Professor. Prof. and Mrs. W.L. Ross are happy over the arrival of an eight-pound boy baby at their home at 5 o'clock yesterday morning. Prof. Ross reached the city yesterday morning from Waco, Tex., where he is engaged in college work. The mother and infant are reported doing nicely. (01/25/1905) At five o'clock yesterday afternoon a twelve pound baby girl gladdened the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Goldstein at 600 Chickasaw. Mother, father and baby all doing well. Duncan, one of the firemen at the Central station, is complaining because the census was taken too soon to include the good looking girl baby that arrived at his home yesterday morning at 6:30. (04/05/1905) Miss Winnie O'Donald entertained a few of her friends in honor of her 12th birthday at her home, on 908 South Walker. A light supper was served at 4 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gossett of West Main street, are the proud parents of a fine twelve-pound girl baby. The mother and child are doing nicely. (05/28/1905) Mr. and Mrs. Preston R. Fischer, foreman of the Moss Brewing company's ice plant is passing around union made cigars. It's on account of the fine boy baby the stork left at his home at about 4 o'clock Friday morning. Mother and child are doing well. (06/11/1905) Baby Born. A ten pound baby girl arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Elliott, who reside at 625 West Sixteenth street, yesterday. The mother and child are reported as doing nicely and the father is the happiest man on earth. Congratulations. (07/07/1905) Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hrabe are the proud parents of a ten pound boy baby. (07/09/1905) Celebrated Their Birthday. Yesterday was the birthday of Colonel Wm. Cross and Major Paul Jundt and the occasion was duly celebrated last evening by a dinner given by the major at the Marquette club. Both Colonel Cross and Major Jundt are the same age, and they call themselves twins. Each year they celebrate their birthdays by giving a dinner to the other, to which the host invites a few friends. The event last evening was a happy one, and a fitting celebration of the natal day of Messrs. Cross and Jundt, each of which reached their twenty-fourth milestone yesterday. (07/19/1905) There is a new arrival, a ten pound baby boy, at the home of Mrs. John O'Neill, at 601 East Fourth street. Mrs. O'Neill was a native of Washington, D.C., and is now a resident of Oklahoma City. Her maiden name was Marie Bregazzi, the well known soprano. Her musical education acquired at the Conservatory of Music, Milan, Italy, where she spent four years. (07/26/1905) Dolos Brady celebrated his 10th birthday at his home, 316 West Grand avenue, yesterday. He was the recipient of numerous beautiful presents from his many friends. (08/02/1905) Birthday Celebration. Ben Davis, livestock agent of the Rock Island, celebrated his 32nd birthday last night with a stag party at his home 22 Broadway Circle. The number present was small, but a most enjoyable time was had. (08/04/1905) Leo Kahn, a Russian, was yesterday granted naturalization papers by the district court. (08/11/1905) Hess Family Is Increased. Mr. and Mrs. John Hess of West Main street are the happy parents of a fine girl baby that arrived at noon yesterday. Mrs. Hess was recently injured by being thrown from a buggy in a runaway accident. Mother and child are doing nicely. (08/20/1905) Mr. Williams, Jr. The finest kind of a boy baby was left by the storks, at 7:20 o'clock last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Williams. The new comer is a heavy weight and in good spirits, apparently delighted with Oklahoma and the world in general. Dr. La Mota, the attending physician reports mother and child doing nicely. In the probate court Henry Kramer has been made the defendant in two bastardy suits filed by Sarah E. Morris of Crutcho. His bond has been fixed at $1,000 in each case. The petitioner alleges that he is the father of a male child born to her in September, 1903, and a female child born in September, 1905, and that $17 is the sum total of funds received by her for the support and clothing of the infants.
