She was 85 years of age. Mrs. Adams was born February 1, 1918 to John George and Effie (Lyons) Davis in Pearson, Oklahoma. She married Houston Gale Adams on July 23, 2941 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. They moved to Okmulgee in 1945 from Pearson. She was a member of the Church of Christ and had help found the Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club which is a support group for widows in Okmulgee. She enjoyed sewing and her yard work. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Houston G. Adams on May 18, 1974 and ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Mike McFarland of Okmulgee and one grandson, Timothy McFarland of Okmulgee. A graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the Wanette Cemetery in Wanette, Oklahoma with her son-in-law, Mr. Mike McFarland and grandson Mr. Timothy McFarland officiating. Interment will follow in the Wanette Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in care if the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
