He was born February 3, 1925 in Childress, Texas to Andy and Rafailia Basquez and married Joyce Marie Williams on February 5, 1955 in Wetumka. He was a member of Northern Light Tabernacle(formerly Northside Assembly of God) for 35 years. He worked in construction all of his life, building bridges and doing concrete work with his son and grandsons. He loved to garden and watch football, but most of all his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: His wife, Joyce, of the home His children, Billy Basquez and wife Jan of Beggs, Sharon Morris and husband Lloyd of Bixby, Mike Basquez and wife Doss of Okmulgee, Tommy Basquez of Okmulgee, and Carolyn Jamison and husband Rusty of Beggs Brothers, Nick Basquez and wife Mildred of Okmulgee, Raymond Basquez and wife Corene of Augusta, Kansas, Ralph Basquez and wife Evelyn of Dustin, Jim Basquez and wife Mary of Wetumka, and Gonzalos Basquez and wife Margret of Tulsa Sisters, Julia Underwood of Wetumka, Doris Davis and husband Dean of Glenpool, Maggie Johnson and husband Kenneth of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Chanca Lee Sloan and husband Alfred of Shawnee Thirteen grandchildrenNine great grandchildren Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2002 at the Northern Light Tabernacle with Reverends Gary Dotson and Lloyd Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be grandsons, Steve Basquez, Joey Basquez, James Morris, Jacob Morris, Justin Huskey, Brandon Basquez, and Jerritt Basquez. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12-8 PM on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
