Dorothy B. Burns 83,  a longtime resident of Okmulgee died in Oklahoma City on Saturday, September 30, 2000.  

She was born on January 14, 1917 in Missouri to William and Laveda White.

 

She attended the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee and had worked at the Hightower Furniture Company.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband W.S. (Bill) Burns in 1972.

 

Survivors include:  two daughters and sons- in- law   Debbie and Ken Reddick of Tulsa and Donna 

and Randy Bartlett of Oklahoma City;  one sister, Marie Grimmett of Twin Hills; and two brothers,  

Walter White and Clarence White both of Twin Hills; and four grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 3, 2000 Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at 

the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee.  burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under 

the direction of the McClendon Funeral Home.

 

The family suggest memorial be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
