Georgell Bussey, a resident of Henryetta was born March 9, 1916 in Winfield, Alabama to 



Ola and George Washington Bussey.  He passed away August 27, 2006 at Henryetta, Oklahoma 



at the age of 90 years 5 months and 18 days. The family moved to Hitchita, Oklahoma when 



he was a young boy. He attended school in Hitchita, completing the eighth grade. When he 



was a teenager, he came to Henryetta hoping to find work. He married  Gladys (Gayler) 



Bussey September 3, 1938. During the years he has been a policeman, rancher and truck driver.  



He worked for Okmulgee County and Indian Nation Turnpike over 20 years.  He retired in 1980 



and has spent his last years enjoying the ranch and gardening.  He was a member of the local 



Odd Fellows and was past Noble Grand.





He was preceded in death by his parents George & Ola Bussey, his wife Gladys Bussey, 



November 21, 2005, 1 daughter, Donna Lockamy, 



5 brothers and 3 sisters.



George is survived by



2 Daughters,  Gayle Heustess & husband Jim, Tahlequah, Oklahoma



Brenda Gobble & husband Jim, Las Vegas, Nevada



4 Grandchildren,  Tina Slaven & husband Sterling, Glenpool, Oklahoma



Valerie Gobble, Las Vegas, Nevada



Scott Gobble, Las Vegas, Nevada



Chad Harris



5 Great Grandchildren,  Savannah, Sawyer, & Sumner Slaven, 



Eric & Maria Fenimore



2 Brothers,  Jimmy Bussey, Henryetta, Oklahoma



Ernest Bussey, Henryetta, Oklahoma



1 Sister, Sue Powell & husband Danny, Henryetta, Oklahoma



As well as a host of friends and other relatives



Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Shurden Chapel officiated by 



Rev. Jim Paslay.   Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
