All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Dumas Cemetery--Dumas TX Ernest Cargill DUMAS - Ernest Cargill, 80, formerly of Channing, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in Claude. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Church of the Nazarene with Steve Swanson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers of Dumas. Mr. Cargill was born June 21, 1924, in Henryetta, Okla. He married Faye Bunch on Dec. 2, 1942, in Dumas. Mr. Cargill served in the Army Air Corps in World War II in Patton's 3rd Army in Germany, Belgium, France, Rhineland and Ardennes and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Cargill retired after 28 years with the state highway department as barn maintenance foreman and bookkeeper in Channing and had recently moved to Dumas. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joey G. Cargill of Panhandle and Olen Cargill of Dumas; two daughters, Maggie Ramos and Debbie Ringo, both of Dumas; 15 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 1 and great-great-grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; and a cousin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
