All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Morris Community Cemetery-- Morris OK Devero, Alta Marie Alta Marie Devero, 97, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2002, in Fort Worth. One of seven children, Alta was born on November 28, 1905, in Bellefonte, Arkansas, to Ben and Angie Harrell. At the age of ten she traveled with her family to Oklahoma in a covered wagon where they established a new home. A graduate of Liberty High School in Okmulgee County, she attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. earning a Teaching Certificate. Over the next ten years, she taught primary grades in the public schools of Boynton, Morris and Haskell, OK. In 1935, she married Roy W. Devero, former City Manager of Nichols Hills, OK. who proceeded her in death. In 1991, Alta moved to Huguley Retirement Center in Fort Worth, TX. where she lived until her recent hospitalization. A devout Christian who loved and cherished her family and friends, she lived a long and happy life. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and wonderful mother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors: Son, Kenneth R. Devero and wife, Jean, of Fort Worth; daughter Carole D. Hood and husband, Kirk S. of Houston; brothers, Clay Harrell of Muskogee, OK; Kent Harrell of Okmulgee, OK; and Dennis Harrell of Wichita, KS. Grandchildren: Major Kenneth R. Devero and wife, Renea, of Oak Harbor, WA; Richard R. Devero of Dallas; Christopher E. Devero of Fort Worth; Alison D. Hood and Kirk D. Hood of Houston. Great grandchildren: Neathan and Brandon Devero. Memorials may be made to Nichols Hills United Methodist Church's Memorial Garden Fund at 1212 Bedford Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Funeral services will be held at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 28. Burial at Morris Community Cemetery, Morris, OK.
