Douglas, 92, formerly of Arlington and retired owner of Douglas Drapery and Upholstery in Dallas, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at home in De Soto. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 4155 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway (Interstate 35E), Dallas. Wake: 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Golden Gate Funeral Home. Mr. Douglas was born July 8, 1914, in Hoffman, Okla., to James and Roberta Douglas. He was an Army veteran of World War II, 352 Engineer GS Regiment. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Forest Hill and attended St. John Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. He was a teacher and coach in Oklahoma and Texas. He was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge 237 and the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Survivors: Sons, Kenneth (Barbara) and James (Willie Jewel) Douglas; daughter, Verna Ferguson; a host of grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
