Amos James Edmerson Sr., 82, of Okmulgee died Sept. 27, 2000 at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1918 in Okmulgee, the son of Henry and Martha Emerson. He was a lifelong resident of Okmulgee and a farmer. Survivors include his sons, Herrie Lee Edmerson of Okmulgee and Amos J. Edmerson Jr., of Glenpool; his daughters, Ethel Edmerson of Okmulgee and Annie Edmerson of Henryetta; his step children, Bertha Long of Henryetta, Elmo Morgan of Henryetta, and Ed Morgan of Okmulgee; his sisters, Geneva Landford and Julia Sanford both of Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Services of memory will be held Monday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m., at the grave side in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Elder Henry McGriff, pastor of the Holy Temple House of Prayer, will officiate. Burial will follow in Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of the Biglow Funeral Home. The family will meet at the funeral home Monday at 9 A.M. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 1 from 12 noon until 6 PM., in the Chapel of Peace at the funeral home.
