Visitation: January 16, 2003 Service: January 16, 2003 Cemetery: Okmulgee Cemetery Edna Edwards was born May 3, 1913 in Donley County, Texas. She was the daughter of Earl Bailey and Buena Alice Davis. Edna moved with her family at an early age to the Morris area where she attended school, graduating from Morris High School in 1931. Edna was married to Raymond Edwards on November 27, 1934 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in Oklahoma, later residing in Illinois and Kansas as Raymond worked in the oil industry. During their marriage, Raymond and Edna also resided for a period of time in both South America and Venezuela. They had two children, Otis and Ramona. Following Raymond's retirement in 1970, the couple owned and operated the Hickory House BBQ in Wagoner for several years. After Raymond passed away, Edna moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico to be near her daughter, Ramona. During her time in Las Cruces, Edna was an active member of the First Baptist Church including both the women and senior groups. Edna passed away on Sunday, January 112, 2003 at the Casa Del Sol Senior Care Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of eighty-nine years, eight months and nine days. In addition to her husband, Edna was preceded in death by her parents of Cleveland; two brothers, Curtis Edward Davis and Benny Frank Davis; and a sister, Jesse Mae Denney of Pawnee. Edna is survived by her daughter, Ramona L. Warren of Las Cruces, New Mexico; son and his wife, Otis and Sue Edwards of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Josephine Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Earlene Ricketts of Cleveland, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2003 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev Mike and Lisa Hayhugh officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2003 at the Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee.
