He was born in Aruba, East Indies to John Bennett English and Doris Steele English on June 17, 1936. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant, with the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force on May 31, 1979, after serving 25 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and attended the Atheka Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Nell English of the home in Okmulgee. One son Thomas A. English III, of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Patty Mallory of Warner Robbins, Ga.; one brother John English of Columbus, SC; two stepsons Frank Scott of Tulsa and Rodney Scott of Carthage, Mississippi and two grandchildren. Wake services were held at the McClendon Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Arbeka Indian Baptist Church with Revs. John and Marvin Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the Arbeka Cemetery. The Memorial Guard will present military Honors from Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
