He was born Wednesday, September 21, 1921 to Jesse Walter and Dosha (James) Hart in Henryetta, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee, the Henryetta Hens Coffee Club and a former member of the Okmulgee Elks Lodge. Mr. Hart served in the United States Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Jamie Hart; two sisters: Ruth Walters and Edna Shaw. Survivors include: two sons: Charles Jackson Hart, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Lodi, CA; Jim Hart and wife, Connie of Okmulgee; two step-sons William Means Stem and wife, Sherry of Three Rivers, MI; Leroy Harris of Okmulgee; two daughters: Rhonda Inez Atkins and husband, Eddie of Hitchcock, TX; Judith Earlene Love and husband, Bob of Onalaska, TX; two brothers: Harvey Herman Hart and wife, Ruth of Richland, WA, Doug Hart and wife, Louetta of Norman, OK; one sister: Jerry Erwin of Jenks, Ok; seventeen grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2005 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Lawrence Matlock officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Wednesday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kelley Chapel.
